I just clicked over to the Rhodesian Ridgeback rescue site and carefully read over all the Northwest region listings, with the idea that maybe if I were to get a second dog, I'd get another Ridgeback companion for Pooka.
Right around when I said "get a second dog" is when I'm expecting to hear the "You must be crazy" responses...why is it so quiet in here?

No you're not crazy; a second one is a great idea, even better if you take one in from a rescue group!
The breeder I've been talking with recommends getting a boy if you already have a girl and are planning on a second dog. (She says one of each is best, followed by two boys, followed by two girls, which she thinks are most likely to squabble with one another, etc. ?!)
So I think it's a great idea, especially now that you've done all the work once and have a great sense of what to do and not to do!
